FITZROY HARBOUR

SOCCER TOURNAMENT

 

Letter of Invitation

 

You are invited to the 19th ANNUAL FITZROY HARBOUR INVITATIONAL SOCCER TOURNAMENT, to be held this year on Saturday, September 15th, 2012.

 

Men’s Oldtimers divisions I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and Masters teams are invited. All players shall be over 35 years of age, except Masters players who are 50-plus. This year, we are pleased to be also hosting both a Men’s and Women’s Rec tournament.  The invite is therefore opened to all Men’s and Women’s Registered OCSL Rec divisions 1, II, III, IV, V, VI players.

 

The fee is $300.00 to be paid by cheque to the Fitzroy Harbour Soccer Club, or “Fitzroy Harbour S.C.”, and mailed with the enclosed ENTRY FORM and a completed GAME/ROSTER SHEET. Entries will be confirmed on a “first-come first-serve” basis, and may not be accepted after September 1st. The tournament winners will be awarded a trophy and a $100.00 prize credit toward next year’s tournament entry fee.

 

This is an “Inter-Provincial” tournament, including our fellow teams based in Quebec.  Every team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Once again we are emphasizing our intention to hold a fun but competitive tournament with good officiating. Bring all your PLAYER I.D. CARDS, so that we can ensure fairness by determining the eligibility and proof of registration of all players.

 

The EODSA has instructed us to include the following in this letter...

 

“Out of district teams must produce a Travel Permit from their Home District Association authorizing the team to attend. All players must be registered to participate in the tournament class. Unregistered players/teams will not be permitted to participate. Teams must carry and supply proof of insurance, injury and liability – while participating in the event. All games are to be in accordance with FIFA Laws of the Game, and under the auspices of the CSA, OSA and EODSA. No more than 18 players will dress per team. Players receiving red cards will be subject to the mandatory minimum OSA penalties. Game protests will be reviewed by a Disciplinary/Organizing Committee. At no time will protests be considered for discretionary decisions made by a referee.”

 

Fitzroy Provincial Park (613 623-5159) is adjacent to the village, featuring day and weekend camping, outdoor eating areas and beach There is a playground at the fields and the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre will be open for snacks and beer (after 12 noon). Do not drink beer in the parking lot .. It’s illegal.
